What do you believe is the purpose of a college education?
I believe that the purpose of a college education is to broaden your horizons. It is to keep learning as much as you can at a higher level. When you have a college education it shows more to future employers or just people in general. It is just something that will boost you in life no matter what.
What does it mean to be educated?
To me being educated means being well rounded. Knowing all kinds of things and being book smart as well as street smart. It's proven through your actions. Being educated is being challenged and doing your best to succeed.
What experiences have you had with education that led you to this belief?
I've been in school for approximately 15 years now and I've seen and experienced many things. Being in school and going to classes definitely boosts your education, but it's life experiences that really educate you as well. For example, when I was diagnosed with diabetes, I learned more than I ever knew I could know. I had to be educated on how to take care of myself and keep myself alive. Therefore, education isn't just from books, but from experience as well.
